The Opportunity

Shape the World Around You – As a Mechanical Designer / Junior Mechanical Engineer with our Property & Buildings team, you’ll support the planning, design, and delivery of building mechanical systems and energy infrastructure projects. You’ll gain hands-on experience with HVAC systems, central plants, and district energy infrastructure under the mentorship of senior engineers.

Your Impact
  • Prepare mechanical drawings and models using Revit and AutoCAD for HVAC and related building systems.
  • Develop equipment layouts, piping and ductwork drawings, schedules, and details that meet project requirements.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations and support equipment selections under supervision.
  • Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and civil teams to integrate mechanical systems into overall designs.
  • Assist with shop drawing reviews, RFIs, site documentation, and construction-phase support.
  • Support central plant and district energy projects through system layouts, diagrams, and coordinated documentation.
  • Incorporate markups and design changes accurately and efficiently into project deliverables; occasional local site travel as required.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma from an accredited institution.
  • 1–3 years of consulting or mechanical design experience (co-op, internship, or full-time).
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD; familiarity with BIM coordination is an asset.
  • Foundational understanding of HVAC systems, building services, and mechanical design principles, plus basic knowledge of building codes and standards.
  • Comfortable working within defined scopes, schedules, and budgets, with strong attention to detail, organization, and a willingness to learn.

Compensation

Compensation:

  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $66,700 – $88,400
  • MB & ON: $60,900 – $83,800
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $60,300 – $80,000
