This internship opportunity begins around August 2026, requiring you to work full-time on-site for at least 12 weeks. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to tackle significant challenges in battery cost efficiency and performance enhancement. Strong CAD skills and a mechanical engineering background are essential for contributing to Tesla's ambitions in battery innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and produce 3D models and mechanical BOMs
• Assist in troubleshooting mechanical designs
• Program and debug PLC control codes
• Create control panels compliant with industry standards
• Collaborate on the development of lithium-ion cell components
Requirements:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Proficient in 3D CAD software (Solid Works preferred)
• Prior experience with fabrication techniques
• Programming in Python and MATLAB is a plus
• Familiar with ANSI, NFPA, LOTO, and OSHA standards
