Commissioning Specialist

The Buildings Canada East Division requires a Mechanical Commissioning Specialist engineer who will provide technical leadership for the building commissioning service line in Markham. The position entails project delivery and continued development of the service line at a provincial level, with key functions related to delivery of commissioning services, development of documentation, interaction with contractors and clients, business development, and assistance with proposal delivery.

• Conduct project delivery activities related to Building Commissioning, including LEED-related commissioning, retro-commissioning, and re-commissioning projects.
• Perform extensive site visits and coordinate work with other disciplines and team members.
• Liaison/coordinate with clients, contractors and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Assist with proposal delivery activities related to Building Commissioning.
• Collaborate with Commissioning management team to develop strategies and business plans for expansion of the service line.

• Strong familiarity with construction documentation including drawings and specifications.
• Interest in buildings, commissioning, energy management, sustainability and construction.
• Ability to divide time between on-site activities and office administrative duties.
• Desire to travel extensively on one-day site visits primarily in Eastern Ontario.
• Strong understanding of building mechanical controls, especially pertaining to HVAC units.
• Commitment to high quality standards and partnering with clients to achieve client goals.

Mechanical Engineering Diploma/Degree with a minimum of 10+ years of commissioning or design experience in mechanical HVAC systems design or maintenance (University diploma preferred but not essential).

Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario: $94,600.00 - $ Annually.
