ASIC Verification Engineer

Job Summary

Qualcomm Canada ULC within the Engineering Group (ASICS Engineering) seeks a Staff ASIC Verification Engineer to shape the future of low‑power AI subsystems for audio and context aware applications. The role requires driving design execution and solving power domain and cross‑domain challenges as part of a cutting‑edge team.

• Contribute to core verification during the pre/post silicon phase of next‑generation ASICs through simulation.
• Drive test plan development, execution and verification closure in conjunction with design and verification teams.
• Contribute to creating and maintaining test benches, assertions, and functional coverage models with scalability and reuse as key goals.
• Implement flows to automate development processes, identify improvement areas and lead them to completion.
• Lead complex debug activities through the development cycle (pre and post‑silicon).
• Provide technical supervision to other engineers and lead by example.
• Work closely with design to define verification methodology, provide test plans and develop required tests.
• Specific responsibilities will evolve with project and team needs.

• Minimum 4+ years ASIC design, verification, implementation or related experience.
• Expert in Verilog/VHDL RTL design languages, ability to write clean, readable, synthesizable RTL.
• Deep understanding of ASIC/VLSI concepts.
• Expert in hardware verification languages (System Verilog testbench/UVM, and/or System
  
  C).
• Expert in hardware description languages (Verilog and/or System Verilog).
• Good working experience with C (basic level) or C++.

• Knowledge in audio codecs (MP3, MIDI, etc.) or bus/interconnect (AHB, AXI) or CPU (ARM v8/v7, cache, MMU, security).
• Strong knowledge of digital circuits and event‑driven simulators.
• Familiarity with Perl, tcsh, Python and GNU Make.
• Experience with automotive safety concepts and standards such as ISO
  26262.

Pay range: $124,200 – $174,200 annual salary, plus a competitive discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants. Additional benefits include a comprehensive benefits package designed to support success at work, home, and play.
