What to Expect
This position is expected to start around August 2026 and continue through the entire Fall term (i.e. through December 2026) or into Spring 2027 if available. The internship requires a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time, on-site, and 40 hours per week for most interns. International Students:

- Automation Controls Engineering Internship
You will be responsible for designing and laying out industrial electrical control panels that comply with NFPA
79, NEC, and UL508A standards, as well as creating detailed electrical schematics. You will also develop and debug PLC code, focusing on creating organized, structured, and maintainable code that is reusable. Additionally, you will implement control‑reliable safety systems in adherence to ANSI/RIA
15.06 and OSHA standards, and design aesthetically pleasing HMI screens. Finally, you will manage and oversee small machine projects, guiding them from start to finish. - Manufacturing Equipment Engineering Internship
The Cell Manufacturing Engineering team is at the frontier of the company, responsible for implementing and scaling Tesla’s ability to manufacture 4680 form‑factor battery cells. High‑level tasks include developing and testing processes, designing equipment, installing and ramping new production lines, and troubleshooting manufacturing issues that affect production and quality targets. This role will allow an intern to work across a subset of these tasks while being guided by a mentor.
Seeking candidates with specific experience in PLC programming and knowledge of web handling processes. - Mechanical Engineering Internship
