Environmental Project Manager, Scientist or Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Manage environmental site assessment and excess soil projects, including planning, execution, reporting, and overall project delivery.
- Lead the design and implementation of field programs, including soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water sampling, ensuring adherence to technical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary technical resources, subcontractors, and field teams to meet project objectives, schedules, and quality expectations.
- Prepare, review, and validate scopes of work, cost estimates, project schedules, and technical deliverables.
- Contribute to and lead the development of strategic, multi-disciplinary proposals and client presentations.
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships through proactive communication, issue resolution, and delivery of high-quality work.
- Apply strong project controls, including scope management, forecasting, budgeting, change management, and risk mitigation.
- Provide technical input on environmental site assessments, excess soil management plans, data interpretation, conceptual site models, and remediation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with AECOM’s quality management systems, health and safety requirements, and project risk management practices.
- Mentor and support junior and intermediate staff through technical guidance, field oversight, and career development.
- Collaborate with senior leaders, project managers, and technical specialists across AECOM’s regional and national teams to support project delivery and business growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience working with Ontario Regulations 153/04 and 406/19.
- 8+ years of consulting experience in environmental site assessments, remediation and/or excess soil management.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant experience and professional designation (e.g., P.Eng. or P.Geo.) and ability to act as a Qualified Person, as per Ontario Regulation 153/04.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, studies, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working with Metrolinx, Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and/or mid/downstream oil and gas clients.
- Knowledge of risk assessment, remediation strategies, sediment sampling, remedial system design and/or operation would be considered an asset.
