LJB Engineering Company, a national engineering consulting firm, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full‑time Trenchless Rehabilitation Practice Lead role. The position will support our rapid growth in tunnel and trenchless design and construction management. Successful candidates will have over 15 years of experience on trenchless rehabilitation projects, including design and construction phases, and possess the professional and interpersonal skills needed to make a positive impact on our firm and clients.

Compensation: $175,000+ based on experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

• Perform geotechnical engineering associated with the trenchless design and construction of municipal water and wastewater conveyance facilities.
• Produce structural and geotechnical engineering calculations to support trenchless rehabilitation design (CIPP, sliplining, SAPL, spiral wound pipe, pipe bursting, pipe ramming, and others) adhering to all applicable local and national codes of practice.
• Develop proposals, cost estimates and schedules for trenchless and rehabilitation projects; lead tasks and teams and produce technical deliverables (construction plans and specifications, structural/geotechnical calculations, design reports, and technical memoranda) per client specifications.
• Independently develop technical memoranda, letters, and reports.
• Lead business development activities, including locating trenchless rehabilitation project leads, discussing teaming and leveraging existing and new client relationships to secure new business in the U.S. and Canada.
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, conveying technical and non‑technical information concisely and professionally during technical meetings and workshops with owners, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Increase LJB’s visibility by participating in regional initiatives, conferences, committees, and community associations, including identified industry activities.
• Office-based assignments require a standard weekday business‑hours schedule; field work may include weekday, night, and weekend work.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Geological/Geotechnical, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or equivalent knowledge of trenchless rehabilitation construction methods and products.

• 15+ years of relevant trenchless rehabilitation experience.
• Substantial professional project expertise in planning, design, and construction of tunnel and trenchless projects.
• Technical engineering and field-level experience delivering trenchless rehabilitation solutions in soft ground and hard rock environments.
• Experience inspecting and designing rehabilitation measures for existing water/sewer tunnels and pipes.
• Training and experience in project management.
• Experience in proposal writing and job scoping.
• Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and teamwork skills.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Thorough knowledge of relevant technical codes, operations, processes, and trends.
• Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, interact with staff, collaborate across disciplines, and mentor junior staff.
