Responsibilities
- Complete various technical licensing work scopes in Canada, including new reactor licensing for the BWRX-300 Advanced Nuclear Project
- Participate in tasks associated with the nuclear regulatory review process with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) applicable to civil structural design, seismic/geotechnical analyses for the BWRX-300
- Support preparation and submittal of Preliminary Safety Analysis Report (PSAR), Pre-Operational Safety Analysis Report (POSAR) and Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) documentation
- Conduct technical and licensing presentations to CNSC staff regarding BWRX-300 license applications and coordinate and prepare responses to the customer or regulator
- Bachelor's Degree in a science, engineering or related relevant discipline from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 7 years related professional work experience OR Master's Degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of related professional work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience performing / providing input into nuclear safety evaluations, in areas related to civil structural design/ seismic / geotechnical analyses, including satisfaction of regulatory requirements for nuclear regulatory documents
- Minimum of 5 years of experience involving complex projects, and providing regulatory guidance and feedback to support those projects
- Eligibility Requirements For Canada GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.
- This position requires access to and/or use of information subject to U.S. Export Control Laws, which mandate all citizen ships (including dual citizen ships) be from the U.S. Department of Energy’s List of Generally Authorized Countries.
Demonstrates expertise in nuclear safety evaluations, civil structural design, and seismic/geotechnical analyses, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and documentation preparation for nuclear projects. Proven ability to conduct technical presentations and provide regulatory guidance within the nuclear industry.
