- We are on the lookout for a dynamic, energetic, Engineering Lab Technician.
- As an Engineering Lab Technician, you will configure, organize and maintain the engineering labs test benches and equipment across multiple Desktop, dGPU and Server programs in order to achieve an efficient and safe lab environment for forthcoming APU, CPU, Compute and Discrete Graphics SOC programs.
- Manage and maintain testing systems, which include replacing various computer components, diagnosing hardware issues, modifying existing setups, and assembling new systems and keep hardware and validation infrastructure test-ready in all other ways in support of roadmap schedules
- Improve and maintain lab tidiness for effective and safe lab environment.
- Keep track on capital asset inventory such as test equipment, probes, adapters, etc.
- Collaborate with 3rd party vendors to ensure test equipment is in good shape, calibrated and operational.
- Assemble, maintain, and debug Validation Systems/Equipment in the lab – motherboards, PSUs, storage devices, etc.
- Load operating system, flash FW, and BIOS images.
- Execute post silicon regression tests, using test automation and coverage tools.
- Reproduction, troubleshooting, and triaging of defects reported by other users or found during regression.
- Isolate issues by running experiments across different platforms and collecting data.
- Prioritize and efficiently manage several concurrent projects and test tasks.
- Developing knowledge of system/platform architecture and debug.
- Supporting local/remote users for hands on setups modification/assembly of lab test benches as needed.
- Hands-on experience with assembling, set-up, and configuration of computer components.
- Good troubleshooting skills to isolate component issues from software/HW/user errors.
- Knowledgeable in Linux and Windows Operating Systems (install, configure, test). Must be comfortable with Linux command line.
- Scripting languages knowledge such as Bash, Ruby, Python is preferred.
- Detail oriented, with a drive to learn quickly in a dynamic environment
- Extensive experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG debugger, etc.
- 8+ PC validation /testing experience with good analytical and troubleshooting skills
- In-depth knowledge of PC architecture and high-speed protocols is an asset.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Technical college degree or higher. Specialization in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science is preferred.
