Geotech Engineer for Underground Mining

In this senior engineering position, you will oversee geotechnical engineering initiatives for the Great Bear Advanced Exploration underground mine. Your responsibilities include leading technical assessments, managing geotechnical risks, and ensuring smooth project execution through effective collaboration with mine engineering and construction teams. Your focus on ground control and rock mechanics will be vital for optimizing underground operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical leadership for underground geotechnical activities
• Develop and implement the Ground Support QA/QC Program
• Review and adapt excavation designs for stability
• Monitor excavation performance and mitigate risks
• Facilitate geotechnical training for site personnel
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• 8-10 years of industry experience in underground mining
• Professional Engineer registration in Ontario preferred
• Strong expertise in rock mechanics and excavation stability
• Familiarity with geotechnical monitoring techniques
Lead the charge in geotechnical engineering and support a safe, efficient underground mining operation for the ambitious Great Bear project.
