Mechanical Commissioning Consultant in Markham required. The position delivers commissioning services for building mechanical and electrical systems, supports the development of the Service Line at the provincial level, and handles business development in the Markham region and Eastern Ontario.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct project delivery activities related to Building Commissioning, including LEED-related commissioning, retro-commissioning, and re-commissioning projects.
- Perform extensive site visits for commissioning services in Ottawa area and occasional visits throughout Eastern Canada.
- Attend meetings and coordinate work with interdisciplinary team members (mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, building envelope, specialty services).
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Assist with proposal delivery activities related to Building Commissioning.
- Interact with the Commissioning management team to develop strategies and business plans for expanding the service line.
- Strong familiarity with construction documentation, drawings, and specifications.
- Interest in buildings, commissioning, energy management, sustainability, and construction.
- Ability to divide time between on‑site activities and office duties.
- Willingness to travel extensively for one‑day site visits primarily in Eastern Ontario and low‑rise rooftops year‑round.
- Strong understanding of building mechanical controls, especially HVAC units.
- High quality work standards and partnership with clients to achieve goals.
Mechanical Engineering Diploma/Degree with a minimum of 3+ years of commissioning or design experience in mechanical HVAC systems (University diploma preferred but not required).
