The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Financial Reporting Consultant to support our client's corporate reporting team during a 12-month maternity leave coverage role. This position plays a key role in preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS, and collaborating with various business units to drive accuracy and efficiency in reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise, the ability to navigate complex reconciliations, and experience working with Hyperion, SAP, and Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare end-to-end financial statements and note disclosures for submission to stakeholders, including multiple sets of statements and special-purpose reports
  • Own and finalize cash flow statements, working closely with business units to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy
  • Assist in interpreting IFRS policies, understanding business unit transactions, and applying accounting standards effectively
  • Perform first-pass reviews of financial statements and supporting schedules prepared by Senior Financial Analysts, identifying and addressing any inconsistencies
  • Work closely with various business lines to understand financial impacts, troubleshoot issues, and provide insights on reporting adjustments
  • Contribute to ongoing finance projects, including IFRS 18 implementation, reporting template modifications, and streamlining reporting processes
  • Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in financial reporting and accounting, preferably within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong IFRS knowledge and experience with financial statement preparation
  • Proficiency in Hyperion, SAP, and Excel (advanced skills required)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience reconciling complex cash flow statements and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to interpret journal entries, challenge discrepancies, and clarify financial impacts where necessary
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with business units and stakeholders
