Overview

Andromeda Software Group, an operating group of Constellation Software Inc., is seeking a highly motivated and action-oriented individual for the position of Tax Manager. In this key role, you will become an integral part of the Andromeda Corporate Tax team and will work closely with, and report directly to, the Sr Director, Tax. The Tax Manager will be responsible for a wide range of activities, including Federal and State income tax compliance and tax accounting.

Additionally, this position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-value tax projects such as international tax planning.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of corporate income tax returns for both U.S. and Canadian entities. This includes the preparation of all related analysis and work papers necessary to support tax filings.
  • Manage quarterly estimates, extensions, and nexus study. Assist with cash tax projections and planning.
  • Preparation/review of quarterly current and deferred tax provisions and calculations required for financial reporting, including the recognition of tax effects on various transactions and events to ensure financial statements are accurate and compliant.
  • Assist with U.S. corporate tax due diligence as needed during the M&A process by identifying potential risks and proposing mitigating factors to address any tax issues discovered in prior or post-acquisition phases.
  • Participate in the integration of new acquisitions by implementing tax compliance processes, rolling out corporate financial systems, ensuring adherence to reporting requirements, and upholding governance standards.
  • Interface with tax authorities as needed, including the coordination of tax audits and preparation of responses to inquiries or requests.
  • Engage with finance teams across all companies to equip them with the necessary knowledge to ensure they provide accurate information needed for tax compliance.
  • Assist in tax research and planning assignments that incorporate the tax laws of multiple North American and foreign jurisdictions, including, but not limited to, basis calculations.
  • Stay informed about the latest tax developments and issues that may impact the organization, such as changes in legislation, court decisions, and tax rulings.
  • Support the organization’s international tax planning initiatives, including strategies related to transfer pricing and cross-border transactions. Assist with quarterly transfer pricing calculations and entries.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree with a major in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience working in a tax role
  • Experience in the preparation and review of complex tax returns and in the preparation and review of tax provisions
  • Software industry experience an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of computerized accounting systems and tax software, including One Source, Tax Prep, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills with the ability to adjust and respond professionally to changing priorities and ad hoc issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and ability to work with others effectively in a remote team environment
