The role will report directly into the Vice President, Finance, and is part of the broader Corporate Finance and FP&A team individual will be working closely with other parts of Finance and the Business (Product/Sales/Operations), along with various levels of stakeholders (from peers to Executives).
Responsibilities:- Strategic Planning – Owing the preparation of the 5-year strategic business plan, including the preparation of critical deliverables to communicate the strategic direction of the business and contributing key assumptions and inputs for the financial forecasts.
- Valuation and Corporate Model – Full ownership of the company’s corporate and valuation model across various LOBs that include updating for strategic changes, acquisitions, corporate developments, as well as various scenario analysis.
- Strategic Initiatives – Supporting Product team by building financial models and business cases for various commercial and residential growth initiatives.
- Profitability Analysis – Full ownership of the IRR and profitability models by product line and various channels.
- Pricing – Building pricing and promotional models across various portfolios to maximize returns and IRRs.
- Forecasting – Reviewing and updating the company’s annual operating forecast to reflect changes in the operating and macroeconomic environment, and presenting operational updates to Financial Sponsor’s senior management.
- Sponsor Relations and Board Reporting – Managing relationships with Financial Sponsor, which include the preparation of various Board material, quarterly results presentations, and any ad-hoc presentations and analysis.
- Professional accounting or finance designation required (ex. CPA, CFA, MFin, MBA).
- 7-9 years of progressive experience in Corporate Finance, investment banking, equity research, corporate development, or valuation.
- 3-5 years of experience in presenting to senior executives and/or Board of Directors.
- Experience in leading/co-ordinating materials and presentations for Boards or senior stakeholder groups.
- Experience in advisory (valuation or transaction services) or private equity is considered an asset.
- Advanced Excel and modelling skills are required and critical; candidate must have 5-7 years of modelling experience.
- Must have a solid understanding of the three-statement models, along with key profitability and liquidity metrics.
- Experience leading a team in Finance is a must.
- Ability to interpret financial data to understand and identify trends, assess commercial impacts, and communicate results with reference to broader corporate strategy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Relationship-building skills and proven ability to develop strong working relationships across an organization.
- A self-starter with strong attention to detail and a focus on meeting deadlines; ability to lead team, while also working on tasks independently.
