Our client is a leading property and casualty insurance group in Canada. They are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A to join their team!

- Report/prepare on financial performance for senior leadership reviews
- Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
- Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization
- Lead the monthly performance review discussions with Commercial SLT.
- Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support
- Data mining/ stitching to help deep dive and tell the financial story
- Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; study proposed changes in methods and materials
- Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards
- Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
- Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models
- Work with key stakeholders across the organization (Pricing, Reserving, Underwriting & Claims etc.)
- Ad Hoc projects/analysis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects)
- 3-5 years post-qualification financial analysis experience.
- This position demands a high level of independence, visibility, and communication. Therefore, effective communication skills are needed.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a structured and controlled framework
- Demonstrable understanding and strategic perspective on the insurance industry
- Sound understanding of financial, strategic and performance management processes
- Proven track record of working in a fast paced environment.
- A degree in Business (Finance, Economics, Accounting & Finance) or equivalent.
- CPA or considering pursuing a CPA
You must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada.
Salary Range$90,000 - $95,000 / year
