In this role, you will utilize your strong clinical skills in the application and removal of casting materials, conducting cast checks, limb monitoring, and the maintenance and application of traction equipment. In addition, you will actively be involved with patient teaching, and you will maintain the fracture rooms within the program.Requirements

Completion of a recognized Orthopaedic Technologist program, or apprenticeship program and sponsorship by an Orthopaedic Surgeon or recognized equivalent. Successful completion of the Canadian Society of Orthopaedic Technologists examination (written, oral and practical components) or commitment to complete within 1 year of hiring. Current registration with the Canadian Society of Orthopaedic Technologists (CSOT). A minimum of 3 years of recent Orthopaedic Technologist experience preferred.Created with Sketch.

Experience with dressing applications is an asset. Experience working in a hospital setting preferred. Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of anatomical structures and their relationships with one another. Ability to interpret simple fractures and dislocations on x-ray film. Excellent assessment and problem-solving skills. Effective time management skills; ability to organize work and set priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well independently and as a member of the team.
