Pharmacy, Dietitian, Medical and Optical services. We look to provide practical experience for future pharmacists in a community pharmacy. Our retail/community environment will provide real world training to enhance academic experience. Students will learn about the expanding roles of community pharmacists. We operate under various banners in Ontario including Zehrs, Fortinos, Loblaws, No Frills, and Your Independent Grocer.
- Expose students to the practice of pharmacy in a community setting.
- Enhance communication skills with patients, employees, and other health care workers.
- Enhance students' knowledge of OTC products, disease state management, drug therapy, and patient counseling skills (including MEDSCHECK under direct supervision of a pharmacist).
- Teach skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy.
- Prepare future pharmacists to be successful in a community setting.
- Interest in pursuing a career in community pharmacy with a focus on patient care and customer service.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge in a practical, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Criminal background check is required for candidates who are 18 years or older (details provided through the application process).
