Project SummaryThe Research Student – PREM (Patient Reported Experience Measure) will support the ongoing implementation and adaptation of the CESI-HCC (Client Experience Survey for Integrated Home and Community Care) — a patient‑reported experience measure developed by the SE Research Centre and implemented in the OHaH business line since Q1 2024.
This placement will focus on strengthening organizational capacity for data‑informed decision making related to client experience, while supporting the adaptation of CESI-HCC for transitional care populations (e.g., clients transitioning from hospital to home).
The role combines research, evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge mobilization within a real‑world health system context.
ResponsibilitiesThe student will work closely with the SE Research Centre and cross‑functional leaders to:
Implementation & Learning Community Support- Support the CESI-HCC Learning Community, engaging cross‑functional leaders to build organizational capacity for client experience measurement
- Assist with the transition from external vendor management to in‑house survey administration
- Evaluate and enhance educational and knowledge mobilization resources
- Support streamlining of sampling, data collection, and data management processes
- Contribute to generating actionable insights from CESI-HCC data for internal and external stakeholders
- Support adaptation of CESI-HCC for transitional care populations, including clients moving from hospital to home
- Contribute to development of a new transition experience index
- Assist in planning and preparation for a 2‑day collaborative design meeting involving clients, caregivers, providers, and system partners
- Support planning for the digitization of the CESI-HCC tool
- Conduct research on best practices and standards in patient‑reported experience measurement (PREMs) and health system evaluation
- Hands‑on experience working with a validated patient‑reported experience measure (PREM) in active implementation
- Exposure to cross‑functional collaboration across clinical, operational, and research teams
- Experience in health services research, evaluation, and knowledge mobilization
- Opportunity to contribute to system‑level improvements in transitional care
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program in Health Sciences, Public Health, Health Promotion, Gerontology, Health Services Research, Health Administration, Health Informatics, or related field
- Strong interest in patient experience, evaluation, and data‑informed decision making
- Coursework or experience in data analysis and interpretation (quantitative and/or qualitative)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to synthesize research findings into practical recommendations
- Interest in health system transformation and community‑based care
