Position summary
Able to work independently and as part of the Outpatient Mental Health clerical team in our interdisciplinary setting.

Schedule
The successful candidate is expected to work days, Monday to Friday, as scheduled. Please note schedules are subject to change based on operational needs.
Compensation
CUP C03 - $$
Responsibilities- Process Processing patient orders through computer. Processing patient charts and restocking (assembling) new charts. Preparing materials for Health Records. Preparation and typing of patient program pamphlets, etc.
- Administration Reception duties and telephone communication. Registering patients and booking follow-up appointments. Managing schedules of physicians and staff. Arranging meetings and appointments. Typing/filing of patient reports/letters. Ordering and monitoring inventory of supplies.
Experience
Recent Unit Secretary experience in a hospital outpatient clinic setting. Previous experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) with a minimum typing speed of 45. Previous experience using Meditech and Community Wide Scheduling. Knowledge of and/or completion of a medical terminology course. Previous experience organizing therapy group wait lists on Excel, booking group orientation sessions and entering group series appointments is an asset.

Demonstrated excellent attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard. Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital-related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.
Skills
Excellent public relations, interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Team player with fellow clerical staff as well as the OPMH interdisciplinary team and physicians. Ability to work in a busy environment where patients are experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties. Previous experience in mental health services will be an asset.
