The Care Company is looking for an awesome, self-driven Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to assist us with an adult home care client.
Shifts/Scheduling Needs- 9am-5pm Mondays and Fridays
- Thursdays 1pm-4pm
- Total of 20 hours/week
- Starting ASAP
- Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs (hygiene assistance, bathing, and medications administration) that is within the scope of practice for a Registered Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
- Provide exceptional patient care as outlined in their care plans, supporting patients with all applicable medical needs
- Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly
- Assists clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as required
- Observe the patients' medical health as well as their physical and mental responses
- Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description
- Completes records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
Experience with any of the following interventions is preferred:
- G and J tube feeding required
- Tracheostomy
- Ventilators
- Bi-pap or C-pap
- Cough assist
- Oxygenation
- Seizure monitoring
- Patients requiring total care
- Non-mobile and/or non-verbal patients
- Patients with Hypotonia
- We are okay to provide training for the right fit
Other requirements include:
- Proactive personality type, someone who is willing to go the extra mile for their client
- Meticulous in terms of cleanliness/infection control
- Friendly, yet polite and mild-mannered
- An asset if you own a vehicle and have a valid driver's licence (not required)
- Negative TB Test completed within the last year
- CNO Registration and nursing certificate/diploma
- COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year
- Valid CPR/First Aid/BLS certification
- Valid WHMIS
2015 certification from the last year - Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
- Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed
- Competitive rates of pay ranging from $33.25-$43.25/hour depending on shift timing
