Process Automation Engineer
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining workflows using native Jira Service Management (JSM), Jira, and Confluence tools and APIs to streamline processes, integrate systems, and reduce manual work. The role focuses on leveraging automation to improve teamwork and operational clarity. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable applications in a fast‑paced, agile environment. Minimum 3-5 years of experience required.
Key Responsibilities- Workflow Design & Implementation: Creating complex automation rules (triggers, conditions, actions) for JSM, Jira, and Confluence.
- Integration: Connecting Atlassian products with external tools (Slack, Teams, Salesforce) using webhooks and APIs.
- Scripting & Development: Using Python, Power Shell, or REST APIs for custom automation and integrations.
- System Administration: Configuring Atlassian and related products (workflows, fields, permissions) for optimal automation.
- Collaboration: Partnering with product owners, engineers, and business teams to identify needs and deliver solutions.
- Support & Maintenance: Troubleshooting issues, managing defects, and ensuring system performance.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and data transformation.
- Scripting (Python/Power Shell) and integration tool experience.
- Problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices, Tech Ops/Technical Support, ITIL, Dev Ops, CI/CD, and enterprise IT environments.
- Experience with AI/ML concepts is a plus.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work through ambiguity to define clear solutions.

Java, JavaScript, Spring, Node.js, Angular, React.js, JSF. - Databases:
Postgre
SQL, Dynamo
DB. - Cloud & Dev Ops: AWS, Tech Ops, pipelines.
- APIs & Services: REST, SOAP, JSON, Ping Federate, SAML.
- Tools & Testing:
Postman, Swagger, JUnit, Jasper. - Architecture & Design:
Microservices architecture, secure authentication, performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of software design principles and architectural patterns.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
- BSc/BA in Computer Science or Software Engineering or related field.
- Full‑time. Standard days and hours are Monday through Friday, normal core business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

- Good faith annual salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 CAD. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
