At Pacific Smoke International, our mission is to help people quit smoking by providing safer alternatives to traditional cigarettes. As the leading distributor of electronic vaporizers and award-winning vaping products in Canada, we've made significant progress since our founding in 2013. However, we have much more to accomplish for our customers, and we're looking for a culturally aligned Manager, AI & Data Intelligence to join in our IT team at our Markham headquarters.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic AI Manager to lead the development, adoption, and operationalization of AI capabilities across the organization. This role will bridge business strategy, data, analytics, and emerging AI technologies to drive operational efficiency, intelligent decision‑making, automation, and business growth.

The AI Manager will work closely with business stakeholders, IT, data teams, and leadership to identify high‑value AI opportunities, define business logic and workflows, and implement scalable AI solutions aligned with organizational goals.

This role is ideal for someone who understands both business operations and modern AI/data platforms, and can translate real‑world business processes into practical AI‑enabled solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the organization’s AI roadmap and adoption strategy
  • Identify business opportunities where AI can improve efficiency, decision‑making, customer experience, and revenue growth
  • Drive AI maturity from descriptive analytics toward predictive and prescriptive intelligence
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies, tools, and platforms
Business Process & Workflow Intelligence
  • Work with departments to understand operational workflows, pain points, and decision‑making processes
  • Translate business rules, operational logic, and workflows into AI‑ready frameworks
  • Design AI‑driven recommendation and decision‑support capabilities
  • Partner with business teams to define measurable AI outcomes and KPIs
  • Collaborate with data engineering and BI teams on AI‑ready data infrastructure
  • Support the evolution of:
  • Data warehouse architecture
  • Semantic layers
  • Metadata management
  • RAG (Retrieval‑Augmented Generation) architecture
  • AI governance frameworks
  • Ensure AI solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture
AI Solution Delivery
  • Lead implementation of AI use cases such as:
  • Predictive analytics
  • Conversational AI
  • Knowledge assistants
  • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal technical teams
  • Manage AI proof‑of‑concepts and pilot programs
Governance, Security & Responsible AI
  • Establish AI governance standards, policies, and best practices
  • Ensure responsible AI usage, data privacy, and security compliance
  • Support AI explainability, lineage, and trustworthiness
  • Promote ethical and transparent AI practices
Change Management & Adoption
  • Drive AI awareness and adoption across the organization
  • Train and educate teams on AI capabilities and opportunities
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Help business teams adapt workflows and operating models for AI‑enabled operations
Qualifications:

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Master’s degree is an asset
Experience
  • 5+ years in data, analytics, AI, business intelligence, or digital transformation roles
  • Experience leading AI or data‑driven initiatives
  • Strong understanding of enterprise business processes and operational workflows
  • Experience with modern cloud data and AI platforms
Technical Skills

Preferred experience with:

  • Big Query / cloud data warehouses
  • dbt / semantic modeling
  • Microsoft Fabric / Power BI
  • AI/ML concepts…
