Core Network Engineer at telMAX

Join telMAX, recognized as Canada's fastest ISP, as a Core Network Engineer in York Region. This senior role focuses on managing core routing and services, optimizing infrastructure, and driving improvements.

Reporting to the Director, Network and Security, the Core Network Engineer takes ownership of key elements including routing, IPAM, DHCP, and DNS services. You will have immediate hands-on involvement with the infrastructure, driving real changes quickly. This role is designed for a production-minded individual who thrives on direct responsibility in a collaborative small team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and manage the core routing and network fabric

• Optimize existing infrastructure and add new sites

• Maintain dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 routing operations

• Automate repetitive tasks using scripting and tooling

• Lead incident response and maintenance planning

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with service-provider IP networks

• Proficiency in eBGP, iBGP, and fabric operations

• Experience with IPAM, DHCP, and DNS services

• Fluency in Juniper systems (MX, ACX, QFX)

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent
