Overview

Adastra is seeking a Lead Quick Sight Developer to support CPPIB’s Data Enablement & AI Pod. This role will focus on the administration, automation, governance, and integration of the Amazon Quick Sight platform, with an emphasis on building scalable and secure data visualization infrastructure rather than dashboard development. The successful candidate will bring strong hands‑on expertise with Quick Sight APIs, SDKs, boto3, SPICE, dataset provisioning, security automation, and AWS data services to enable reliable and governed analytics capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administer and automate the Amazon Quick Sight platform using APIs, SDKs, and boto3
  • Design and implement automated Quick Sight dataset provisioning and governance processes
  • Configure and manage SPICE capacity, including incremental and event‑driven refresh strategies
  • Automate Row-Level Security (RLS) and Column-Level Security (CLS) across Quick Sight datasets
  • Manage Quick Sight name spaces, users, groups, subscriptions, and lifecycle processes through automation
  • Develop scalable automation for Quick Sight administration and platform operations
  • Integrate Amazon Quick Sight with AWS Lake Formation to support secure and governed data access
  • Establish and maintain platform governance, security, and operational standards for Quick Sight
  • Troubleshoot Quick Sight platform, dataset, refresh, access, and integration issues
  • Collaborate with data engineering, cloud, and analytics teams to support enterprise data enablement initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Strong hands‑on experience administering and automating the Amazon Quick Sight platform
  • Strong experience with Amazon Quick Sight APIs, SDKs, and boto3
  • Deep understanding of SPICE, including incremental and event‑driven refresh and capacity management
  • Experience automating Quick Sight dataset provisioning and governance
  • Strong experience implementing and automating Row-Level Security (RLS) and Column-Level Security (CLS)
  • Experience managing Quick Sight name spaces, users, subscriptions, and user lifecycle processes
  • Hands‑on experience integrating Quick Sight with AWS Lake Formation
  • Strong understanding of AWS cloud services and data governance concepts
  • Experience developing automation and repeatable processes for enterprise analytics platforms
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Experience working in enterprise data and analytics environments
NICE TO HAVE
  • Experience supporting large‑scale enterprise Quick Sight environments
  • Experience with broader AWS data and analytics services
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and Dev Ops practices
  • Experience working with financial services or investment management organizations
