Job Overview

Responsibilities
  • Purchase general and specialized equipment, materials or business services.
  • Assess requirements of an establishment to develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased.
  • Develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased.
  • Negotiate offers from suppliers.
  • Consult with suppliers.
  • Review quotations.
  • Determine contract terms and conditions.
  • Establish delivery schedules.
  • Monitor progress of delivery schedules.
  • Contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems.
  • Plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the organization.
  • Resolve delivery and other problems with suppliers.
  • Order supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Obtain price quotations from catalogues and suppliers.
Qualifications
  • Computer and technology knowledge.
  • Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software experience.
  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Area of work experience:
    Purchasing, procurement and contracts.
  • Specialization/experience in business sales and services.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Large caseload management.
  • Efficient interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written communication.
  • Organized.
