Job Description:

We are searching for the best talent for a Sr. Customs Analyst, located in Markham, Ontario, Canada.

Purpose:

Johnson & Johnson is hiring a Sr trade compliance analyst in Markham, Ontario, Canada. As a member of the North American Trade Operations team, Canada based, the Sr analyst will provide support in managing the customs compliance processes for import and export for the JJMT and Innovative Medicine businesses in alignment with corporate policies and government regulations. Critical interfaces are Trade Operations, Supply Chain Deliver and J&J business Management Teams, GTTO regional and global Teams, Distribution teams, J&J partner companies, logistics and customs brokers suppliers, Canada Border Services Agency and Other Government Agencies, Global and Regional Trade Controls teams, source company international specialists, and professional organizations.

You

will be responsible for:
  • Metrics and Performance
  • Develop and maintain metrics to measure key performance indicators around customs release, import, export and audit
  • Participate in ongoing supplier performance review sessions
  • Manage or maintain relationships with 3PL partners such as customs brokers and distribution to drive business results
  • PMO Support
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert on Trade Compliance matters
  • Lead Trade Compliance Projects
  • Solution border issues with Broker and Business as it pertains to inbound and outbound freight
  • Provide Trade compliance guidance to Supply Chain Deliver, partner companies and team members regarding customs legislation as required
  • Support initiatives and processes relating to compliance requirements outside of CBSA including SOX, Regulatory, GMP
  • Engage with legal counsel as required
  • Cost Improvement
  • Actively drive Cost or Process Improvement Initiatives to meet Supply Chain Deliver or GTTO business goals
  • Compliance
  • Support the customs compliance program across all sectors in alignment with corporate policies to ensure customs activity complies with CBSA regulations
  • Conduct/Support audit reviews as subject matter expert across all sectors. Provide recommendations for solutions
  • Pursue Free Trade Agreement opportunities, national customs rulings for duty favorability in line with Compliance Standards
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and job aids as required to support Global Trade Standards and local process
  • Liaise with other J&J organizations regarding emerging customs technologies
  • Support for New Product Introduction – HS classification and Data base management
  • Transportation Management
  • Support transportation activities that involve Border activities
Qualifications / Requirements :

High School diploma or equivalent is required; college diploma or university degree is preferred.

5 years of experience in Transportation and/or Trade Compliance Operations.

Experience with Six Sigma / Process Excellence / Lean methodology and tools is required; certification preferred.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Advanced technological aptitude (especially with Microsoft Office Suite, data mining, ERP systems).
