Recreational Facility Maintenance Operator

Join the City of Markham as a Recreational Facility Maintenance Operator, ensuring the smooth operation of community services. This full-time position requires facility upkeep and safety management.

This role reports directly to the Community Facility Supervisor, focusing on maintaining arenas, pools, and community centers. You will operate specialized equipment, monitor safety protocols, and undertake essential cleaning tasks while fostering an inclusive environment. Your ability to lead part-time staff will enhance service delivery and facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule openings and closings for facilities

• Operate and maintain ice and pool machinery

• Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance routines

• Identify facility issues during patrols

• Train and supervise part-time maintenance staff

Requirements:

• Minimum three years’ facility operations experience

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Required CPO and Basic Refrigeration certifications

• Current First Aid with CPR 'C' certification

• Excellent multitasking and communication skills
