Position

Purpose:

Reporting to the Commissioner, Engineering and Public Works, the Manager, Transportation & Fleet is responsible for managing transportation services in the Operations Division encompassing transportation, roads, fleet and arboriculture. Key duties include developing, implementing, and managing operations/maintenance projects related to transportation, roads, fleet and arboriculture.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or similar.
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation with OACETT or Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng).
  • Certified Roads Supervisor (CRS) designation with AORS.
  • Five or more years of experience in developing, implementing, and managing municipal capital and maintenance programs relating to transportation.
  • Working knowledge of the following provincial legislation and applicable regulations:
    Occupational Health and Safety Act;
    Highway Traffic Act;
    Employment Standards Act;
    Labour Relations Act.
  • Computer proficiency utilizing word processing and spreadsheet software, internet, e-mail, and work order systems.
