Pay Information

Base pay range: CA $70,000.00/yr - CA $90,000.00/yr. The actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

Job Summary

Pacific Smoke International Inc. (PSI) is Canada’s leading distributor of electronic vaporizers and manufacturer of award-winning vaping products. PSI’s mission is to help people quit smoking by providing safer alternatives to traditional cigarettes. As a Category Manager, you’ll oversee the performance of external brands and new product launches, leading go‑to‑market strategies and financial performance.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Senior Manager, Brand Marketing, and other department managers to develop and execute external brand/portfolio strategies.
  • Oversee the brand development process from research to sales strategies for entire external brands.
  • Deal with external brand owners and manufacturers to continuously optimize product selection and portfolio strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including marketing intelligence, product development, digital marketing—to build external brands and products set for success.
  • Continuously assess the competitive landscape and consumer insights to identify trends, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  • Assess brand/product performance; strategically add new products, evolve promotional strategies, and minimize slow‑moving SKUs.
  • Strategize and oversee go‑to‑market launch strategies and conduct post‑mortem analyses to measure effectiveness and refine tactics.
  • Manage brand financial performance and the brand marketing budget.
  • Generate and analyze reports from sales, digital marketing analytics, and other data sources to improve strategies.
  • Assume line‑manager duties: define, measure, and report major KPIs to senior management.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on merchandising and guide point‑of‑sale materials to increase brand awareness.
  • Create engaging presentations for cross‑functional departments and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as the main contact for brand‑related topics across sales, product development, supply chain, and related functions.
  • Manage the brand planning calendar; coordinate cross‑functional activities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Mandarin speaking is required.
  • Knowledge of vape (cannabis or tobacco) industry product, supplier, and sales is preferred.
  • Proven advanced negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to identify, quantify, and mitigate procurement risks.
  • Ability to develop actionable strategies and oversee execution.
  • Strong cost‑benefit and business analysis abilities.
  • 2–3 years of experience in product/category management or related field.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Experienced project management skills.
  • Presence: able to confidently communicate brand status and strategy.
  • Self‑starter: takes action without significant direction and engages leadership when needed.
