Production Supervisor - GTA

Hours: Monday to Friday 6 am - 2:30 pm

What you’ll do
  • Oversee shift production processes and employees; monitor compliance with productivity, quality, and delivery standards set in KPIs and departmental objectives.
  • Participate in hiring, training, performance management, and development of production staff.
  • Report on employee time and attendance.
  • Ensure strict adherence with all health and safety procedures and policies, modeling behavior, training, coaching, and upholding a zero tolerance policy.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct audit of equipment setup, ensuring readiness for production and make adjustments as needed.
  • Participate in company inventories and cycle counts as needed.
  • Update shop orders to reflect current manufacturing parameters.
  • Meet production standards as specified in job orders and/or ISO documents.
  • Work with engineering to resolve major technical and/or quality issues on the production floor.
  • Ensure correct inventory transaction to maintain accurate inventory locations.
  • Monitor daily and weekly efficiencies, production plans, rework, scrap rate and recommend improvements.
  • Operate equipment safely, including immediate reporting of equipment malfunctions.
  • Document and communicate all quality issues in a timely and detailed manner.
  • Support internal audits to processes and documents of the area of concern.
  • Collaborate professionally and effectively with all other departments, external partners, and contractors.
We're looking for
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in heavy industrial manufacturing.
  • Postsecondary education preferred.
  • Knowledge of foundry operations or other alloys-based industry is an asset (steel, brass, aluminum, copper, zinc, etc.).
  • Proven ability to lead teams to hit and exceed production quotas.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders:
    Quality, Maintenance, HR, external contractors, etc.
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, and excels at multitasking with ability to implement and maintain processes.
  • Self-motivated, team player, strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to communicate across all levels.
  • Capable of using basic inspection tools such as verniers, micrometers etc.
  • Experience with LEAN principles and continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of health & safety legislation (OHSA) and proven ability to enforce safety.
  • Solid computer skills: MS Office, ERP.
