About the Role
As a member of the Stouffville site team, the Mill Helper will execute the daily tasks of cleaning, monitoring and maintaining the Sand and Gravel Plant in accordance with Amrize Best Practices and Policies and perform all administrative duties related to equipment maintenance. This is a night shift position.
What You'll Accomplish- Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure the site meets or exceeds all Amrize and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure the plant and surrounding site are kept safe, presentable, and functional.
- Support the Environmental Department in developing, implementing and managing operational standards to mitigate environmental impact.
- Operate and maintain assigned equipment to original equipment manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Perform daily inspections as part of a preventative maintenance program to ensure maintenance is scheduled and completed as required.
- Wash plant and equipment to remove material buildup resulting from spillages.
- Support effective relationships within the community by participating in local activities and events.
- Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas, promoting a culture of safety and exhibiting these behaviors.
- Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Industrial plant operation and maintenance experience is an asset.
- Heavy equipment operation experience is an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude, specific mobile equipment training, and forklift and skidsteer operation.
- Computer literacy is an asset.
- Action‑oriented, organized, priority‑setting, problem‑solving, time‑management, and written communication skills.
- First Aid certification.
- Surface Miner certification.
- Confined Space certification.
- Working at Heights certification.
- LOTOTO compliance.
- Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize‑approved personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirator use. Employees required to wear respirators must be clean‑shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
