Develop precision manufacturing skills as a Machinist Co-op Student at AtkinsRéalis, supporting manual machining and introductory CNC operations. Work day shifts Monday through Friday.
This student role connects classroom theory with practical subtractive manufacturing experience. You will work alongside licensed machinists and CNC programmers while building skills in machine setup, inspection, blueprint reading, and part finishing. The position supports precision production through careful shop practices.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with manual lathe, mill, and drill press setup
- Operate introductory CNC machinery with experienced machinists
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, verniers, and indicators
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
- Deburr parts, maintain machinery, and organize tooling
- Current enrollment in an accredited machining-related program
- Basic shop math and cutting speed knowledge
- Foundational understanding of feeds and tooling
- Familiarity with Mastercam or Solid Works is an asset
- Commitment to PPE, punctuality, and safety protocols
