Philanthropy Development Officer

Position: Philanthropy Development Officer Ontario SPCA
Location: Whitchurch-Stouffville

Join Ontario SPCA as a Development Officer in Eastern Ontario, focusing on building relationships for major gifts. Engage with local communities to promote animal welfare and vital fundraising initiatives.

This role requires a passionate individual with a solid background in fundraising and donor management. The Development Officer will cultivate partnerships to secure donations exceeding $10,000, while mentoring a portfolio of local prospects, foundations, and businesses. You'll work closely with various teams to enhance community outreach and fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop donor strategies to increase local engagement

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 75 major gift prospects

• Conduct personalized cultivation and solicitation activities

• Create tailored donor communication materials

• Collaborate with colleagues on integrated fundraising initiatives

Requirements:

• University degree with additional fundraising training preferred

• Over 5 years of experience in securing donations

• Proficiency in managing donor portfolios

• Strong communication and writing skills

• Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge fundraising software
