Position summary

Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, Medicine, the Access and Flow Medicine nurse will work in collaboration with Emergency Department (ED) and Medicine teams and corporate stakeholders including the Access & Flow ED RN and Manager of Access & Flow/Administrator on Site (AOS), to support flow efficiencies using business intelligence tools/dashboards.  Acquisition Created with Sketch.

Schedule

Patient care

Collaborate with key team members to actively re-assess admitted inpatients in the ED to actively plan for the most appropriate care and disposition of the patients (, admission, discharge, telemetry, etc.) to support efficient and timely patient admissions and discharges and, resolution of patient flow issues that arise including, but not limited to early discharge, transfers, diagnostic imaging, allied health assessments and interventions, MRP re-assessment and follow-up.

Qualifications

Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses. Current BCLS certification required and ACLS certification an asset. Minimum 3 years of recent acute medicine department experience. 1-2 years' Leadership Experience (projects, charge nurse/team leader/supervisor/flow leader) preferred. RNAO membership is preferred. Excellent physical assessment skills;
