In this role, as a member of the interprofessional team, you will work closely with the Physician to provide care to lower acuity emergency patients. You will utilize your strong clinical, patient teaching and communication skills in a fast‑paced environment that focuses on patient/family‑centered care and customer satisfaction.
What you bring to the role- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses
- Current BLS
- Recent RPN experience in an Emergency Department required
- Completion of an accredited college Coronary Care 1 program or proof of demonstrated current enrollment or equivalent required, or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Previous experience in a fracture/plastic clinic is an asset
- Previous experience in patient education, suture removal, dressing changes and assisting with minor procedures;
Td immunizations is an asset - Medication Certificate
- RPNAO membership is preferred
- Excellent physical assessment skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Demonstrated commitment to a patient/family centered care environment
- Demonstrated excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team
- Well developed organization, communication, interpersonal and teaching skills
- Evidence of ongoing professional development, continuing education and leadership experience
- Good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
- Commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
8‑hour and 12‑hour shifts with main shift options of 0730‑1930, 0930‑2130, 1230‑0030, 1930‑0730. Days, evenings, nights and rotating weekends. Schedules may change due to operational needs.
CompensationCU10 - $37.64 to $39.02 per hour.
