Job Overview You will be an integral member of the interprofessional team responsible for the comprehensive care of medical and cardiac patients in Acute Medicine. The role emphasizes professional practice and customer satisfaction, with a focus on high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities Comprehensive assessment, care planning, patient education and discharge planning to support continuity of care throughout the patient’s stay.
Coordinate and develop interprofessional plans of care reflecting patient needs.
Leverage clinical leadership, analytical, problem‑solving, delegation, and interpersonal skills to provide quality patient care.
Qualifications Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses.
Completion of Medication Administration Certification.
Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
Recent acute medical experience (1–2 years) required.
Registered Practical Nurse Association of Ontario (RPNAO) membership preferred.
Excellent physical assessment skills.
Proficient computer skills.
Demonstrated commitment to a patient/family‑centered care environment.
Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team as well as independently.
Well‑developed organization, communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills.
Evidence of ongoing professional development, continuing education and leadership experience.
Good attendance and performance records.
Commitment to a healthy and safe workplace, following all relevant policies and legislation.
Work Schedule 12‑hour shifts, both day (07:30–19:30) and night (19:30–07:30) rotations. Weekdays, weekends and holidays. Schedules may change due to operational needs.
Compensation CU10 – $37.64 to $39.02 per hour.
