As the program RN you will provide subject matter expertise in nursing to support the delivery of client-centered care as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will use your knowledge of nursing practices, medical conditions, and health guidelines, and your experience working with children and youth to provide consultation, education, training, and other support to our clinical teams and families.
This is a 1 year contract with the possibility of extension.
The salary range for this position is $35.19/hr CAD- $43.99/hr CAD
Your responsibilities include:
Working with families and clinical teams to develop medical safety plansConsulting with families and clinical teams on medical conditions, medication side effects/risks and benefits and management, infectious diseases, other nursing related subject matters, health and safety practicesObtaining informed consent for medication administration and medical safety plansSupporting the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of the documentation of health data in the health recordLiaising with regional public health dept, school boards, other community partners as neededProviding education and training to clients, their families, and our clinical teamsProviding general nursing and health and safety subject matter expertise and support to the program as neededQualification and Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent**Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of OntarioProof of Personal Professional Liability InsuranceRecent experience and expertise in mental health/psychiatryKnowledge of normal child/youth growth and developmentExcellent nursing clinical assessment and intervention skillsProven facilitation, communication and counselling skillsExcellent and proven goal-directed, solution-focused interpersonal skillsThe successful candidate will require a valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicleFluency in French language (written and oral) an asset.
