Shape the future of breastfeeding support at Oak Valley Health as a Registered Nurse Lactation Consultant. Work collaboratively in patient care, focusing on breastfeeding support and education for diverse families.
As a key member of the lactation team, you will provide individualized care, assess breastfeeding needs, and develop educational programs for new and high-risk mothers. You'll partner with NICU and pediatric teams to ensure coordinated care, while implementing the Baby Friendly Initiative and leading breastfeeding initiatives across the facility. Your expertise will drive positive outcomes for families during critical moments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and plan individualized breastfeeding support
• Implement educational programs for mothers and caregivers
• Lead the Baby Friendly Initiative in the organization
• Collaborate with NICU staff on care planning
• Network with breastfeeding community for best practices
Requirements:
• Current RN registration with the College of Nurses
• BScN;
Master's preferred with IBCLC certification
• 4 years of obstetrical experience preferred
• Experience with NICU infants is an asset
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
