Maternal Child Registered Practical Nurse

Support mothers and newborns as a Registered Practical Nurse with Oak Valley Health, using patient-centred care, assessment, and critical thinking.
This Registered Practical Nurse serves in the Childbirth and Children’s Centre. The assignment provides Antepartum and Postpartum care for mothers and newborns. The successful candidate works within an interprofessional team and independently, supporting patient and family centred decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide Antepartum care for mothers and newborns
Provide Postpartum care for mothers and newborns
Promote patient and family centred care
Support patient centred decision making processes
Work effectively within interprofessional teams and independently
Requirements:
Current College of Nurses registration certificate
Minimum one year maternal child experience
Current neonatal resuscitation and fetal health surveillance certifications
Current BLS and Medication Administration certifications
Breastfeeding course completion or commitment within three months
Bring maternal child experience, physical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills to Oak Valley Health’s childbirth services.
