The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) position is a development focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager role. The SMIT program is a 16‑week, self‑paced and collaborative training that includes virtual and hands‑on learning experiences.
Our team consists of a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach who will support your growth toward a leadership career.
Key Skills- Communicate well verbally and in writing to support and lead the team.
- Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service.
- Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
- Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
- Actively engage with your leader during Key Learning Experiences to support your path to promotion.
- Support the store as a management team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
- Engage colleagues in supporting the company’s purpose of “helping people on their path to better health.”
- Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market your work in.
- Willingness to accept a promotion to the Store Manager role at any location in the designated market.
- Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market.
- Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
- High School diploma or GED (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
- Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.

Pay range: $18.50 – $26.25 per hour. This represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary. Actual offer will depend on experience, education, geography and other factors.
