As a Senior Software Developer at 7shifts, you’ll join our Growth squad, where the focus is on shipping experiments that improve our in‑product activation, retention, and monetization. You’ll be at the forefront of our product‑led growth strategy, acting as a key driver in how we test, learn, and scale. You'll report to an Engineering Manager who's invested in your growth, gives you real feedback, and creates the conditions for you to do your best work.
In this role, you'll shape high‑velocity technical decisions across product, design, and engineering to deliver real value to users. AI is part of the toolkit here, you use it actively, you know when to reach for it, and you hold the bar on what ships.
- Lead other developers and the product, design, and engineering (PDE) squad in ideating, refining, and building minimum viable features
- Make pragmatic technical tradeoffs that prioritize learning from experiments and prototypes faster without sacrificing core system stability
- Implement robust tracking and analytics for new features, partnering with PMs and Analysts to review experiment results and user behavior data to iterate on the product
- Improve application performance, reliability, and data integrity by addressing root causes and reducing system complexity
- Set and reinforce strong engineering practices through code reviews, testing, and consistent technical standards
- Mentor other developers through feedback and technical guidance, helping the team make better decisions over time
- Use modern tools, including AI, thoughtfully and responsibly to reduce friction and improve delivery
- A degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- The ability to take ambiguous business problems and turn them into lightweight, testable technical solutions
- Comfort working in large, evolving codebases and improving existing systems over time
- Sound technical judgment when balancing speed, quality, performance, and long‑term maintainability
- Clear communication and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional partners
- Experience mentoring other developers or leading technical discussions within a team
- Experience in designing, building, and running pricing and feature entitlement experiments
- Experience working with PLG expe
