We are looking for an Android Engineer to lead development of the Lorex applications. You will guide the Android team, uphold engineering quality, and work closely with our iOS counterparts to deliver a consistent, high-quality cross-platform experience.

• Lead and mentor Android developers through code reviews, coaching, and architectural guidance.
• Own Android app quality: code structure, reliability, testing practices, and performance.
• Work in parallel with the iOS team to ensure platform consistency, shared architecture decisions, and aligned feature delivery.
• Drive adoption of modern Android best practices (Kotlin, coroutines, Jetpack, modularization).
• Improve build stability, CI/CD workflows, and Crashlytics health.
• Collaborate with Product, Backend, Firmware, and QA teams to deliver well-scoped, high-quality releases.

• Expert Kotlin developer with strong understanding of modern Android patterns (MVVM/Clean Architecture).
• Experience with Jetpack components:
  View Model, Live Data/Flow, Work Manager, Navigation, Room, etc.
• Strong knowledge of coroutines, structured concurrency, and asynchronous programming.
• Practical experience with Firebase (Crashlytics, Analytics, Messaging).
• Familiarity with video streaming, WebRTC, or real-time media frameworks (nice to have).
• Experience maintaining large, production apps with complex navigation flows and multi-module setups.
• Solid understanding of Gradle, AGP upgrades, and dependency management.
• Strong debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills.
• Experience writing and enforcing unit tests and contributing to UI/automation testing strategy.
• Comfortable working in tandem with an iOS team to ensure architectural alignment, shared API definitions, and synchronized feature release cadence.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is an asset.

• Proven experience leading or mentoring Android engineers.
• A passion for code quality, clean architecture, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communicator who can bridge Android, iOS, backend, QA, and product teams.
• Ability to balance speed, technical debt, and long-term maintainability.
