We are looking for a Full-Stack Developer (Rust & Web Assembly) to join our engineering team and contribute to the development of modern, secure, scalable software applications and platforms.

The successful candidate will work across the frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure layers, with Rust serving as an important technology across both backend services and selected frontend components through Web Assembly (WASM).

This is an opportunity for a developer who enjoys working across the entire technology stack and is interested in building software where performance, security, reliability, and maintainability are important.

The candidate will work closely with our engineering team to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain production-quality software.

You do not need to be a cryptography or QKD expert. Familiarity with these technologies is an asset, but the primary focus of this role is full-stack software development and integration.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack applications and services.
• Develop backend services and APIs primarily using Rust.
• Develop selected frontend components using Rust and Web Assembly (WASM) where performance, security, or computational efficiency provides a meaningful advantage.
• Develop modern web interfaces using Type Script/JavaScript and appropriate frontend frameworks.
• Integrate Rust/WASM components with modern web applications.
• Design and implement RESTful and/or real-time APIs.
• Design database schemas, queries, migrations, and data-access layers.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend services and APIs.
• Develop authentication, authorization, session [REDACTED], and other security-related functionality.
• Build reusable, modular, and maintainable software components.
• Write clean, well-structured, documented, and testable code.
• Develop unit, integration, end-to-end, interoperability, and performance tests.
• Diagnose and resolve software, database, networking, and deployment issues.
• Participate in software architecture and technical design decisions.
• Contribute to code reviews and establish strong engineering practices.
• Work with Dev Ops and infrastructure components to deploy and operate applications.
• Monitor application performance, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with backend, systems, cryptography, networking, and infrastructure engineers.
• Work with existing systems as well as develop new applications and services from the ground up.

• Rust: strong professional experience developing production software, preferably including backend, systems, networking, or security-sensitive applications.
• Type Script/JavaScript: strong experience with modern web application development.
• HTML5/CSS3: strong understanding of modern web standards and responsive interfaces.
• SQL: strong understanding of relational databases and database design.
• Python: experience with scripting, automation, testing, or tooling.
• Bash/Linux shell scripting.

Strong experience with modern frontend development using technologies such as:

• React
• Next.js
• Vue.js
• Angular
• Other modern Type Script/JavaScript frameworks

The candidate should have experience with:

• Responsive web application development
• Component-based application architecture
• State management
• API integration
• Form handling and validation
• Browser security
• Accessibility
• Frontend performance optimization
• Cross-browser compatibility
• Modern frontend build and deployment tools

A key aspect of this role is the ability to use Rust in the frontend where appropriate. The candidate should ideally have experience:

• Developing Rust applications that compile to Web Assembly
• Designing frontend components that use Rust/WASM for computationally intensive or security-sensitive functionality
• Integrating Rust/WASM modules with Type Script/JavaScript applications
• Managing communication between WASM modules and browser-based application code
• Understanding the performance and security characteristics of Web Assembly
• Determining when Rust/WASM provides a meaningful advantage over conventional JavaScript/Type Script implementations

The expectation is not that the entire frontend will be written in Rust. The successful candidate should be able to choose the appropriate technology for each component while maintaining a coherent architecture.
