Position Summary

Reporting to the HOD, Manager PIC, the Facility & Security is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of Mobis Parts Canada Corp.’s warehouse and office facilities. This position manages multiple external vendors, coordinates building permits and inspections, and ensures all facility systems are maintained to the highest standards. The role requires a proactive, detail‑oriented individual with hands‑on experience in facility operations, vendor coordination, and working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, CCTV, access control, fire and life safety, dock maintenance, generators, and building permits.

The position also includes basic handyman duties such as performing simple repairs, minor installations, and general maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage vendors for plumbing, HVAC, electrical, generator, fire and life safety, dock and door, CCTV/alarm, janitorial, and landscaping services.
  • Perform basic handyman work including painting, patching, tightening fixtures, replacing ceiling tiles, and other small repairs.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections, preventive maintenance checks, and repair verifications.
  • Respond promptly to facility and maintenance requests, ensuring issues are resolved safely and efficiently.
  • Support internal teams with facility layout changes, installations, renovations, and construction‑related work.
  • Prepare and submit documentation for building permits, occupancy permits, and contractor compliance as required.
  • Monitor and track energy and utility usage (electricity, gas, water).

Security Systems

  • Maintain and oversee CCTV, access control, and alarm monitoring systems.
  • Liaise with security vendors for troubleshooting, false alarms, or equipment replacement.
  • Administer access card systems and coordinate user permissions with HR as required.
  • Support upgrades or expansions of the security and surveillance systems.

Safety And Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Ontario Fire Code, Building Code, Occupational Health & Safety Act, and municipal permit requirements.
  • Coordinate and track building and fire permit applications, including inspections, renewals, and documentation.
  • Conduct and document safety inspections, fire drills, and life safety equipment testing.
  • Liaise with fire inspectors, insurance representatives, contractors, and municipal authorities.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date WHMIS, MSDS, and safety documentation for facility operations.

Administrative And Vendor Management

  • Obtain service quotes, issue POs, and review vendor invoices for accuracy.
  • Maintain organized records of inspection reports, permits, and service logs.
  • Track vendor performance, renewal schedules, and warranty coverage.
  • Communicate and coordinate facility matters with landlords and property management teams.
