RME Mechatronics Apprentice – Yorkshire & the Humber – 2026 – Fixed Term
Join Amazon to launch your engineering career in Mechatronics Maintenance. The apprenticeship gives you hands‑on experience with electrical and mechanical disciplines across our advanced automation facility.
Key responsibilities- Perform proactive and preventative maintenance on complex automated equipment.
- Diagnose faults and repair equipment in a live distribution warehouse.
- Use advanced tools to maximise equipment effectiveness.
- Modify and upgrade existing equipment.
- Uphold health and safety policies and practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects.
The first 12 months provide a full‑time residential programme, combining practical work with industry‑recognised study. You will learn fault diagnosis, fluid power systems assembly, mechanical device maintenance, electrical wiring and testing, hydraulics and pneumatics, PLC operations, CAD design and 3D printing.
Basic qualifications- You are a UK national or non‑UK national with the right to work in the UK, or an EU national settled in the UK.
- You are 18 years old or older and will be resident in the UK for the entire duration of the programme.
- You have a minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grades 9‑4 / A‑C in Maths, English and a science/technology subject.
- You are not registered to study on a UK government funded course ending August 2026 or later.
- You have no qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship.
- 5 GCSEs at Grades 9‑4 / A‑C, including Maths, English and a science/technology subject.
- Studying towards or having achieved a T‑Level in Engineering or A‑Levels with a bias towards science & technology.
Location:
Yorkshire & the Humber (exact site to be confirmed).
Contract:
36‑48 months fixed term starting September 2026. You will cover 24/7 operation in shift patterns that reflect real‑world schedules of engineers.
