Estée Lauder Companies are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern (CVE) Intern within the Commercialisation and Validation Engineering department on a 13-month placement opportunity to join an experienced and committed team at Whitman Laboratories, where as a site, we manufacture around a fifth of Estée Lauder’s global sales output. The role is centred in a fast-paced manufacturing environment within the Commercialisation and Validation Engineering (CVE) team to support the launch of new products/components on production lines.

Preparing for and monitoring these new product implementations will be done through risk assessments and production studies, as well as investigating problems with data analysis. Coordinating with cross-functional teams to commercialise new products across skincare and fragrance, you will be providing feedback, line trial reports and data compilations, for analysis to respective brands. The successful candidate will be validating new product specifications and the processes necessary for their production on manufacturing lines.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Undertake production studies to monitor and optimise effectiveness for the assembly area to enhance continuous improvement initiatives. Produce recommendations and discuss ideas with necessary management.
  • Support line improvement and strategic projects, as required, taking details from relevant managers and working within a project team or individually as necessary.
  • Support Commercialisation and Validation Engineering with line trials and documentation as required
  • Collate and compile performance and operations data into usable formats. Data would typically show trends highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Generate and develop saving initiatives, investigate their feasibility and facilitate and drive implementation of justifiable improvements.
Qualifications
  • Currently studying towards an Undergraduate Engineering degree or related subject and be on track to achieving a 2:1 standard or higher. (A Chemical, industrial or mechanical engineering degree is preferred).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet deadlines.
