Assabet Valley Collaborative (AVC) is an educational service agency serving the Metrowest and Central Massachusetts region. Our services include school programs, wraparound services, transportation, professional development, cooperative purchasing, and consulting. AVC’s Orchard Street Academy (OSA) is a small public therapeutic school serving grades 5–12.

Ideal Candidate Profile- Ability to engage with conflict and core tensions.
- Bilingual or multilingual is a plus.
- Strong collaborative and independent work skills.
- Passion for teaching and learning.
- Compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, IDEA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Experience in schools, nonprofits, or human service organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Massachusetts DESE licensure in Moderate Special Needs, 5th–12th.
- Dual licensure in Moderate Special Needs and core content area highly desired.
- Deliver instruction that blends social‑emotional learning, culturally relevant teaching, Universal Design for Learning, and the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
- Design and adapt curricula to meet students’ daily personalized learning needs through individual, small, and whole‑group activities.
- Balance high academic and behavioral expectations with necessary accommodations and modifications.
- Collaborate with families, districts, and providers to develop, present, and implement IEPs.
- Partner with para educators for effective curriculum development and IEP implementation.
- Develop student‑centered assessments and data systems to inform instruction and generate progress reports.
- Complete all required documentation and participate in professional development and community events.
- Comply with collaborative policies and procedures; perform all other duties as assigned.
Annual evaluation in accordance with AVC’s personnel handbook and applicable regulations. 185‑day schedule, 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Summer hours available but not required.
Physical DemandsActive position requiring frequent physical movement. Staff will receive training to intervene physically as needed per AVC Physical Restraint protocol.

- Full 185‑day school year; summer hours available for additional compensation.
