About Raytheon

Raytheon’s Mechanical Engineering (ME) Organization leads the mechanical hardware design, development and production of radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system equipment. The ME team uses state‑of‑the‑art tools, processes, technology and Raytheon’s CORE principles.

What You Will Do
  • Utilize strong mechanical hardware design experience with ruggedized structures, interconnects, electronic modules, radome and array integration.
  • Develop technical solutions for the entire product life cycle including proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test of phased‑array radars and electronics for multiple military programs.
  • Supervise mechanical outlines and construction details, component selection, specifications, mechanical and assembly drawings, electrical/RF layout and deliver final technical data package.
  • Support design peer reviews, close action items, resolve issues and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisions.
  • Work with limited supervision, meet schedule, financial and technical goals.
  • Provide technical conscience, ensuring product and process meet appropriate standards and requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, lead retrospectives and identify actionable improvements.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience. An advanced degree may substitute additional experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years designing and developing mechanical equipment, preferably for use in military environments.
  • Experience with phased‑array structures, hardware packaging, radome or array integration for military or commercial applications.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven mechanical design ability in a production environment.
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional team environment.
  • Strong technical aptitude and high‑stress situational handling.
  • Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software.
  • Experience with PTC Windchill Product Data Management or equivalent configuration/data management software.
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Salary range for this role is 66,000 USD – 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels and RTX considers several factors when extending an offer.

Specific benefits are dependent on the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.
