Test Technician II

Job Summary

Test Technician II at Doble Engineering provides direct support to customers worldwide performing testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of Doble test equipment.

• Test/calibrate new production Doble test equipment
• Calibrate, upgrade, test and repair both customer-owned and Doble‑leased test equipment
• Record all test data and failure information in the production database
• Assist customers/clients with technical telephone support including remote trouble shooting of systems in the field
• Provide full in‑house repair, test, hardware and software upgrades, and calibration services on Doble test equipment
• Fulfill customer sales orders as required
• Make recommendations to improve quality or production test methods and processes
• Use analog & digital troubleshooting techniques and equipment to troubleshoot to board or sub‑assembly level
• Related duties as assigned by the Customer Service Supervisor

Education
:
High School Degree or Electronic Technician Certificate.

Required Experience
:

• Experience with electronic test equipment, oscilloscope, DVM, frequency counters, etc.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to proactively communicate status & issues to internal and external customers
• Ability to meet critical deadlines while managing multiple priorities
• Must thrive in a deadline‑driven, fast‑paced team environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Customer Service Technician I or equivalent
• Proven system test level, troubleshooting and repair of power industry test equipment

Other Helpful Education or Experience (Not Required):

• Familiar with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with test, upgrades, troubleshooting and repair of Doble test equipment
• Experience with nuclear industry calibration requirements for test equipment
• Experience with power industry high‑voltage test equipment.

The employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and interact with clients, co‑workers and customers. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds; assistance required when lifting 50 or more pounds.

Hourly Pay Range:
Minimum $26.16 - Midpoint $32.70.
