Under the supervision of the Senior Radiologic Technologist, provides direct patient care services and other related functions in support of the department. Performs independently within scope of department policies. Clinically works at the direction of a qualified Radiologist.

I. Major Responsibilities
  • Properly performs all diagnostic and fluoroscopic radiologic techniques and examinations, consistent with the age of the patient, within in-patient or outpatient settings, in compliance with departmental and professional standards and protocols.
  • Gather pertinent clinical data and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Accurately completes all exams, paperwork and submits promptly.
  • Positions and transfers patients appropriately.
  • Assists physicians with interventional exams.
  • Promptly and properly completes exams and performs QA on images, then sends exams to PACS for review by the radiologist.
  • Assists in maintaining an orderly inventory.
  • Provides radiological technology skills to perform all exams including portables, Emergency Department work, C-ARM, fluoroscopy, and general radiology procedures.
  • Assists with any other job‑related duties including film hanging, office duties and discrepancy documentation and follow‑up.
  • Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities
    • Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
    • Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
    • Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
    • Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
    • Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients, and visitors.
    • Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
    • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.

    II. Position Qualifications

    License/Certification/

    Education:

    Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited radiological program.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Preferred:

    Experience/Skills

    Required:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced setting, collaborating with peers to produce optimum results.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients and families.
  • Preferred:

    Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
